On Thursday May 30th, we hosted an AELIA L&D [Omni-]Talk, an L&D Talk (the 5th) with a twist. We explored L&D for teams and communities.
It was an exceptional experience, which started by testing out our adaptiveness and ended up by validating the joy of learning and communicating which we all share in this community! Reversing our initial plans due to last-minute constraints of invited speakers and guests, initially we had to redesign it as a hybrid talk (connecting the hosting Orange Grove premises with another 2 sites).
But the step ahead, which boosted the enjoyment and the learning results, is that we also transformed it into an "Omni-Talk", a 360 Q&A session!
Our guest business leader, Vicky KLIMI, the L&D Studio member Alexandros Vafeiadis, as well as AELIA team members as organisers had a combined role of asking and at the same time providing their insights. It was about questioning each other and answering each other's questions! And it was a blast!
Mainly thanks to the core speakers:
- Vicky KLIMI, Chief Executive Officer at grandmama, and
- Alexandros Vafeiadis, Employer Branding & Internal Communications Specialist at Saracakis Group of Companies
They both engaged in a highly interactive discussion with members of our team. Together, we shared insights, views, and experiences on team empowerment.
Among other topics, we discussed:
✅ Challenging issues organisations face regarding teams
✅ Specific challenges for remote teams (Saracakis Group of Companies operates in 4 countries, whereas grandmama holds a community of over 9000 professionals around Greece)
✅ Effective ways to develop people to become better collaborators
✅ Individual mentoring, intra-mentoring, and reverse-mentoring as dedicated forms to engage people in their respective teams
✅ Whether teamwork is a skill that can be learned (just a heads-up here; we all agreed that it can)
A big thank you to Vicky and Alexandros for their contributions and vibrant participation, as well as to Orange Grove for hosting us at their premises.
In an era characterised by complexity and constant change, developing people within teams is more pressing than ever!
