How are recruitment and L&D connected?
That was the focus of one of our recent Ask & Share sessions at L&D Studio, featuring Vasiliki Kanellopoulou (Alumil) and Lina Valmas (she/her/hers) (senior HR and Customer Success leader). The 2 exchanged practices, challenges, and tools on:
➡️Skills-first recruitment and cultural fit
Assessing candidates not just for their current capabilities, but also for their growth potential and cultural alignment.
➡️Onboarding as a learning journey
Designing onboarding as a custom experience for maximum employee engagement (not just a checklist of logistics). A journey that introduces the organization as a whole, beyond the role, since every employee is also a brand ambassador.
(And yes, you can lose a new hire due to inadequate onboarding.)
➡️Internal mobility and development
Viewing internal mobility as a strategic path within the employee lifecycle and recognizing the critical role of upskilling in making it work.
